Simoncelli dies in crash, Race Cancelled

The 2011 Malaysian Grand Prix MotoGP race was cancelled due to a horrific crash that killed star rider Marco Simoncelli. The race started with Casey Stoner taking a slingshot into the lead with Pedrosa and Dovizioso following him. Simoncelli and Bautista were battling for 4th and 5th followed by Nicky Hayden. Edwards was running 7th ahead of Rossi on 8th.

On Lap 2 Simoncelli got ahead of Bautista and on turn11 Simoncelli lost his front end crashing out of the racing line but within an instance the bike with rider hanging on to it veered back to the track directly on to the path of Edwards and Rossi and hitting them heavily. Edwards and Rossi had no time to react to avoid the Simoncelli who was partly on the ground with his bike running out of control. Edwards and Rossi had to run over Marco and in the process Marco´s helmet was ripped out of his head. Edwards crashed heavily too resulting in a dislocated shoulder while Rossi who was on the other end managed to hang on to his bike after a jump leaving Marco was lying on the track without motion. The race was immediately red flagged and the medics came to treat the injured Marco. After a short while the race was cancelled and the official news of Marco Simoncelli was released by the organizers shocking the entire MotoGP world.

In difficult times like this we feel to restrain from taking commercial advantage of the events and try to comment in a positive way that doesnt hurt anyone in anyway and give due respect to the demised racer.
